GENEALOGIE-Site Fam. Kessler / Meyer

Hello
I would first like to welcome you to my Web Site of the Kessler/Meyer Geneology. My name
is Cindy Martin Meyer, and along with my cousin Christopher J.Kessler, we have taken on
this project to find information on the "Kessler's"of in or around Rockenhausen
Germany. As you can see, there is a picture of "The old homeplace in
Rockenhausen", we were very delighted to have made several contacts in Germany, who
have done Alot of "leg work" for us. Without them, it would NOT have been
possible to acquire as much information as we have. We have been told that Rockenhausen is
a "Kessler" built village. As most all the men of this family were brick masons,
(brick layers). This was also the case, as this Kessler Family immigrated to the U.S.A.
about 1880 and to settle in and around Evansville, Indiana. My Grandfather Louis Kessler, along with his brother Phillip, also carried on this trade. They being known
in Evansville as some of the finest brick layers around! This I am very proud of. As a
child, I remember helping my Grandpa Louie. He would
have me carry the bricks out in the backyard, and then he would build things. I felt that
I was the biggest helper ever!! Probably, had the truth been known, I was put to work to
stay out of his way!! But, being the wonderful man that he was, he would never have let me
